Well actually only if we last much longer.
As I sit down to write this post, it's the day after Mr. Trump dropped the largest non nuclear bomb ever made on a little country on the other side of the world. The party running the province I live in is being investigated for taking large sums of corporate money to garner political favour. A man was forcibly dragged off an airplane after purchasing a ticket, boarding and being seated with many people commenting online, "oh well this is just the reality of the world we live in today". When did any of this stuff become acceptable? Where are we heading?
A few years ago I watched a television program where members of the Santa Fe Institute were interviewed and one of the questions asked of them was "Why aren't you working on solving global warming?" Their answer was that they had discussed the idea and decided that it was a waste of time and energy. In the near future mankind would erase itself off the face of the earth and slowly but surely nature would repair all the damage we have inflicted upon it. They likened us to a blight and I have to say that everyday I agree with their analysis more. We have inherited a beautiful place and we are doing are darnedest to destroy it.
All I can say is "Where is the Lorax when we need him?"
It must have been Marvelous.
